The floor sanding process
Step 1
Before any sanding takes place, all damaged boards are replaced with reclaimed timber and any loose boards or blocks are fixed into place.
Step 2
After knocking down any protruding nails or screws, the uneven floor can now be levelled. Note that the boards are sanded at 45 degrees to
achieve this.
Step 3
The floor sanding machine can't sand right up to the edges so we use a special edging sander.
Step 4
Even the smallest detail like the corners are taken care of.
Step 5
A final sand along the grain with a smooth abrasive to remove any marks that the earlier rough levelling sand may have put in the wood.
Final step
After a thorough clean up, the varnish is applied, job done.
